US medical students grade US medical schools on their relationship with pharma industry - neat!

    Screen_shot_2012-01-23_at_13

This is a really neat service. US medical students grade US medical schools on the policies they have for regulating relationships with the pharmaceutical industry. I'm sad there's nothing like this in the UK/EU, it's a really great illustration of how an excellent resource can be produced by crowdsourcing, and then putting the fruits of that labour into an easily usable data structure.

If you're in the mood to do something similar, then... do it!

    Thanks for posting about this!

PharmAware UK is currently working on a survey of medical students, the teaching they receive at med school on drug promotion, how much of it they are exposed to and what they think. So far we've got Newcastle Uni med school on board and possibly KCL. But WE NEED MORE!!!!

If enough students respond to the survey and say they'd like more teaching on the medical curriculum and they want their med schools to improve their pharma policies then we have more umph behind our efforts to improve medical education and its a step closer to being able to develop a UK version of the AMSA score cards!

If anyone is interested in helping us out then email pharmaware@gmail.com
